Honoring his more than 30 years of public service, a public monument has been dedicated to the former Commissioner of Planning and Community Development, Robert T. Hefti.

Designed by the well-known Bronxville landscape designer Mieke Armstrong - a close friend of the Hefti family - the public monument honoring Hefti includes a bronze plaque memorializing his public service, a granite bench with his name carved into the stone and lilac shrubs, one of his favorite botanicals.

The public ceremony was attended by a crowd of friends, family and colleagues. Guest speakers included Anthony J. Colavita, esq.; Justice Nicholas Colabella and Justice Howard Spitz all long-time associates of Hefti's.
